A rescue dog with a sense of loyalty as strong as his sense of smell is being hailed as a hero after making a heartbreaking discovery in southern Greece.
Aragon’s owner volunteers with Second Chance Animal Rescue Society, an animal rescue group in southern Greece. She and Aragon headed out to the mountains of Ymittos recently, with plans to shoot footage of all the dogs, cats, and other animals that are routinely abandoned there and typically eaten by foxes.

Suddenly, Aragon zeroed in on a white cardboard box covered with black lettering and began pulling his owner toward it.

Inside was a litter of adorable black-and-white furballs, helpless kittens who someone had cruelly left to nature’s mercy.
Knowing they couldn’t leave them there, Aragon and his owner scooped them up.

After a local vet gave them all a clean bill of health, the volunteer took them home to look after them until they are old enough to adopt out.

Aragon, of course, had to put in his two cents.

He not only served as the kitten’s saviors, but he also stepped into the role of stepfather, keeping a close eye on his charges and providing the cuddles and love that their mother could not.

We’re sure these cuties are in good hands.
