She Went To Visit Soldiers’ Graves, But Then Heard A Familiar Voice… I Have CHILLS!

“Sometimes the toughest battle soldiers face is when they’ve returned home. And sometimes it’s the kindness of a total stranger that gets them through it.”

When Mary saw a fellow veteran’s suicidal post on the internet, she wasn’t going to just move on. Instead, she took action and did something incredible. James’s cry for help struck Mary’s heart to the core. So much so that she started searching for this complete stranger’s number in order to help him find his way back.  “It doesn’t matter if the guy is a soldier, if he’s a friend, if he’s a brother of mine… every life is precious.”

She lost her arms while she was in Iraq, she’s been through a divorce, she had breast cancer, “Whatever you’ve got man, I’ve been there.” Although the obstacles Mary has faced are many, her attitude is heroic.  James said:

“My PTSD brought me to the point of suicide. I wouldn’t be sitting here right now Mary hadn’t answered the phone.”

The two meet for the first time as they stand surrounded by the graves of fallen soldiers. To see the overwhelming emotions pouring out of every second, its clear to see that their connection is incredibly deep.
