Family Breaks Down In Tears During Reunion With Dog Stolen Out Of Their Backyard 2 Yrs Ago.

Cali never thought she’d see her family again.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback was stolen from her loving home in a quiet New York suburb after being adopted from a local animal shelter by Brittney and Larry DiBartolo and their four children. The beautiful pup disappeared off the face of the earth for two years enduring an unknown and horrible fate… until she wandered into a gas station late one night.

Wesley Baker’s heart dropped the moment he saw Cali. The beautiful pup was bleeding from the nose, emaciated, and clearly on her last leg. Baker immediately called local animal rescue Broken Promises Animal Sanctuary to see if they would take the dog into their care.

After seeing Cali’s dire condition, volunteers at the shelter decided to take Cali in right away and try to save her life. Veterinarians at the clinic could tell that Cali had been on her own for quite some time. They injected her with antibiotics and prayed for the best… but they never knew Cali would fight so hard for life.

Thankfully, Cali was microchipped when she was adopted by the DiBartolo family. When they got the call that she was alive, they were over the moon.

“When we had got the phone call that Cali was found it was just pure shock. We were in disbelief that it (a reunion) was even possible,â€

After she was stabilized and cleared for travel, Cali made the 479 mile trip to Raleigh, North Carolina where the DiBartolo’s now lived.

Adorned with an adorable pink ribbon and full of her old energy, Cali greeted her family with kisses and tail wags galore. The beautiful pup was finally home.
