Hospitalized Father Couldn’t Attend Graduation, Then Daughter Hatches Plan With His Nurses.

Some milestones are just meant to be shared with family, but sometimes parents, siblings and grandparents  can’t attend because of circumstances beyond their control. But when a recent high school graduate realized her own father wouldn’t be able to attend her ceremony because he was in the hospital battling cancer, she decided to bring the graduation to him.

Hollie Bailey’s father, Jack Bailey, was admitted to the hospital on May 19, about two weeks before she graduated from Floyd Central High in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.

The family was “praying that dad could make it to her graduation, even if that meant we had to wheel him in a wheelchair,”Hollie’s sister, Heaven, posted on Facebook.

The family was crushed when, just days before Hollie’s big day, they learned that Jack had to remain in the hospital and wouldn’t be able to attend. Undaunted, the family worked with school administrators to hatch a big surprise: an early graduation ceremony at the hospital!

“That is one of the most touching things I’ve ever seen! What a cool gesture for your principal (to) even come and present it and the hospital to allow you to do it!”one person commented after seeing the video of the hospital ceremony, which can be viewed below.

“It was a blessing for all of us to witness such a magical moment,”Heaven wrote.
