This Cop’s K-9 Was Shot The Line Of Duty. When They’re Reunited At 0:25 All Seems Right Again!

While Officer R.J. Young and his K-9 partner Bruno were chasing down a suspect on March 20, 2014, Bruno was shot point-blank in the face – and the man was believed to have fired at probation officers. The suspect was killed by more gunfire, but no one else was hurt that day because of Bruno.

“[He was shot] point blank, it was a horrific thing to have to watch,”Young, an officer with Anaheim, California’s police force, told ABC News at the time. “My entire world came tumbling down in the matter of a second.â€

Young noticed his partner suffering when Bruno did his best to return to Young’s side, even though he was bleeding profusely. Immediately, they took Bruno to the hospital and after emergency surgery he pulled through!

The most touching part of this whole story is when Young told ABC News that he would adopt Bruno in order to personally take care of his medical expenses. After several procedures, the K-9 was able to leave the hospital and return to his new home.

Watch their reunion below and share this touching story of friendship to inspire others today!
