10-Year-Old Was Lost In Utah Wilderness, How He Survived Is Truly Remarkable

Utah boy after rescue from night in wild

A ten-year-old boy survived 29 hours alone in the Utah wilderness after getting separated from his family – all thanks to some survival tips he learned from his dad.

Malachi Bradley was hiking with his family last Sunday when he wandered off to gather wild mushrooms. He eventually realized his family couldn’t be found and immediately went into survival mode.

“It was weird not having anybody with me, but I just kept going. I knew I had to make it back or my family would be really sad.”

Bradley used his jacket to filter drinking water and a makeshift spear to harvest fish from the river. When the temperature dipped into the 30’s that night the little survivalist also managed to keep warm by huddling between boulders and conserving energy.

Lo and behold, a rescue helicopter found him the next day, just over 24 hours from the time the search began.
