2,600 Lb Horse Breaks Guinness World Record & The Photos Are Mind Blowing!

In 1879, a Canadian woman gave birth to a baby boy who still holds the Guinness Book of World Record’s heaviest weight at birth at 22 lbs. Pretty impressive, huh? Now imagine giving birth to a 240-pound baby boy.

That’s how much a Belgian draft horse named Big Jake, weighed when he was born in 2001, and he’s since grown to a massive 2,600 lbs. (yes, you read that right).

Most Belgians measure in at 5 and a half feet, but at nearly 6 feet, 11 inches tall (20 hands, 2.75 in.), Big Jake’s held the Guinness World Record for tallest horse since 2013.

The big boy was born in Nebraska but raised from an early age at Smokey Hollow Farms in Poynette, Wisconsin.

Though he foregoes sugar, the behemoth’s daily diet consists of 1 ½ bales of hay each day, 32 quarts of oats and lots of water and vitamins, according to farm manager Jerry Gilbert.

Of course, Big Jake loves all the attention that comes with his title, but Gilbert says he’s not one to throw his weight around and in fact has a “great personality.â€

“He’s very friendly, he loves to play around and play with people’s hair, and he’s kind of a big jokester, actually,”Gilbert says.

Simply Marvelous
