Everything about Ethan Hall’s audition for “The Voice Australia” was unexpected.
For starters, at just 13 years old, he has an impressive vocal range that he’s able to control quite well. Most surprisingly, however, was the song he chose for his audition. Rather than going with a popular or modern song, he chose a classical one: “Pie Jesu.”
As soon as Ethan opened his mouth, everyone else followed suit! Even though this song includes insanely tough high notes, he managed to hit them all perfectly. In almost no time, he got all four judges to turn around, something that moved him to tears.
“I was certainly very nervous before I went on and then I reckon the tears came on as a relief, almost as if ‘oh my goodness I’ve done it, I’ve got chairs turned and I’m into the next round,'” Ethan said. “That certainly made me happy.”
