9-Year-Old Stuns AGT Judges With Breathtaking Original Song

Journeyy Belton played an original song for his America's Got Talent audition.

Journeyy Belton is a 9-year-old musician with a wealth of talent. The young singer and songwriter is self-taught. Journeyy auditioned for Season 19 of America’s Got Talent, singing his original song, Paradise. The song, his voice, and the keyboard accompaniment blend together in a spine-tingling performance. Listening without seeing this young man, you would not guess his age.

When Journeyy came onto the stage, many probably silently said, “This ought to be cute.” Journeyy is absolutely adorable, but when he began playing the keyboard and singing, the entire audience gasped with a collective sigh. You can almost feel the words hanging in the air as he sings. The inflection of the words and the soft melody offer visions of a true paradise with purple clouds, automatic lullabies, and bugs that don’t bite.

You want to be there in Journeyy’s world as he welcomes you to his paradise. The range of this young man’s voice is on full display as he shifts from anxious to relaxed with the lyrics. Journeyy brought his “A” game to the America’s Got Talent stage. At the song’s end, the young performer received a standing ovation. Simon commented that he loved it when people wrote their own material.

During a backstage interview, Journeyy said, “I just didn’t expect that me recording videos at my house would lead to me being here right now. When I grow up, I want to be a pop singer.” Like many young artists, Journeyy started by recording and posting videos on TikTok. His parents maintain his social media accounts, with videos showing Journeyy just being a kid while showcasing his talent.

It is easy to understand how Journeyy ended up on the America’s Got Talent stage.
