TikTok is well known for spurring trends… sometimes good, sometimes bad. But you’ll simply scream with joy for this adorable new trend — thrifted ghost paintings! The concept is pretty simple and wonderfully creative.

You go to your local thrift store, find an unassuming painting you like, bring it home, and pull out your paintbrush to add some ghosts!

This trend has spawned hundreds upon hundreds of adorably spooky artwork shared across social media. We’ve inevitably found a few favorites, so here goes! 

This classic painting features a bunch of children playing on the playground, so the artist in question decided to spruce them up a bit to fit the theme. The finished product is quite adorable, with the children dressed as witches and sheet ghosts, frolicking on a slide!

This artist found a painting of an old brick manor house and decided to ghost it up a bit! Of course, you can find the expected sheet ghosts in the windows and door of the home. My favorite touch, though? The adorable ghost swinging in the tire swing!

Painting is always better with friends! This artist had the wonderful idea of throwing a thrifted ghost painting party, inviting friends over to enjoy refreshments and do their own paintings. The results were simply stupendous!
