Two women were about to go for a hike on a new trail, but they were a little worried about making the trek all by themselves. They had no idea that a four-legged guide would be waiting for them when they arrived! As Erica and her friend were about to get out of the car, an unfamiliar pooch appeared at the door as if by magic. As it turns out, this dog would become the perfect hiking companion!

First, introductions had to be made. The driver rolled down her window, and the pup immediately stood up on his hind legs to greet her. When she inspected his collar, she found out that his name was Roscoe. She also discovered an unusual message, which read, “I will go home. Leave me.” Since it sounded like this dog was capable of finding his own way back, the two women decided to invite him on their hiking trip. He was more than happy to join!
Erica shared the sweetest video from her scenic walk with Roscoe. She and her friend also got some adorable photos with the dog during their hiking trip. It looks like the three of them had a great time exploring the beautiful trail!
These two women were very grateful for Roscoe’s presence during their walk. They felt much safer hiking with a large-ish dog close by. Apparently, he stayed with them throughout the entire excursion! Perhaps he knew they needed some extra protection.
“We were a bit nervous about hiking alone on a new trail, but he stayed by our side all the way to the top,” Erica wrote in her video. “Thanks, Roscoe.”
In her caption, she added, “Our furry guardian angel.”

In an update, Erica shared that she reached out to Roscoe’s owner via the number on his tag just to let them know what a good boy he’d been! We hope this dog gets lots of treats for helping these two ladies feel safe while hiking on an unfamiliar trail.
