UPS Worker Goes Out Of Her Way To Ensure Girl’s Christmas Gift Isn’t Ruined

While some of us get a break from our jobs around Christmas, for others, the holiday season is the busiest time of year. This is certainly true for those who work for the UPS. Now, more than ever, folks are ordering gifts for their loved ones. So much so, in fact, that UPS hires seasonal workers to help out. Aubrie Jones is one of those workers.

While being a delivery driver is hard work, Aubrie absolutely adores getting to deliver presents. That said, she found herself in a predicament recently. She was set to deliver a Barbie Dream House to a family she remembered. The problem? The box wasn’t wrapped, making it easy for the gift to be spoiled, should the child see it. Luckily, Aubrie came up with the perfect solution.

Before Aubrie made the delivery, she stopped by her home to use the bathroom. Here, she passed by a roll of wrapping paper — and that’s when she got to work on ensuring a little girl’s Christmas surprise didn’t get ruined.

“I just kept imagining if this was my own family — if my sister ordered this, and this box was sitting on her step, and my niece were to walk right outside and see it, before Christmas Day,” Aubrie shares. “When you think about how something can affect your own family, if the shoe were on the other foot, you really get into a different mindset.”

Since Aubrie’s video went viral, she’s gone on to show herself doing the same for other gifts. Because, while it’s true she can’t know for sure which ones are gifts, there are signs. Plus, if nothing else, she says she could “prevent a porch pirate from being enticed.”

“So many comments were thanking me for doing this, saying I was doing the Lord’s work or I was saving Christmas, that I deserved a raise or a bonus, or that the video made them smile and believe in humanity again,” Aubrie says. “It was honestly a great feeling reading through all of the positive comments. It really felt like a sense of community.”
