You were not guessing that a herd of silly llamas was waiting at the back deck, were you? Not to worry, though. If you are prepared with llama snacks, you’ll be a hero with the local herd. Now you’re wondering, what do llamas like?
The llamas you might see around your cabin in Peru like various snacks. You can pack in carrots, celery, alfalfa, sweet potato, apples, bananas, watermelon, mulberries, fresh green beans, or pumpkin. Since many of those are also healthy human snacks, they’re easy to remember. You probably won’t be able to DoorDash your groceries, so plan ahead.
The list of preferred and safe snacks is long, but so is the list of bad snacks. You don’t want to cause harm to the llamas that may visit your Peru cabin, so pay attention to this list and skip these items. Avoid any animal product, including eggs, milk, and flesh. Leave behind the avocados, cherries, and other foods with pits or stones. Humans may like sweets, but they are bad for llamas, so no chocolate or other sugary treats. Peas, lima beans, and potatoes are also on the list of bad foods.
A good rule when considering what snacks to feed your furry visitors is: when in doubt, don’t hand it out. If unsure, do not feed it to any llamas, alpacas, or other animals you might encounter.
Please share these silly freeloading llamas.
