You never know when or where you’ll meet someone that you connect with. However, once it happens, you’ll definitely want to keep that person in your life! When Erin Rose Jackson and her family sat down at a restaurant in Brooklyn, they started talking to a pair of elderly diners, named Sue and Dominick, at the table next to them. They had such a wonderful time with the strangers that they ended up making a plan to reunite in a year!

As everyone said their goodbyes, they chose not to exchange contact information. Instead, they all agreed to meet at the same restaurant on December 27 at 7:00 p.m. the following year. When the date finally rolled around, Erin posted a sweet video on Instagram of her family’s trip to reunite with the strangers. She was so excited to see her new friend Sue again!
In order to get to Brooklyn, Erin and her loved ones had to travel by plane. She posted more details about the trip in her Instagram story. As she pointed out, it was a very expensive time of the year to fly, since it was so close to Christmas. She added that many people had warned her that Sue and Dominick might not actually show up to the restaurant. However, Erin was determined to see the reunion through! Deep down, she believed the two elderly people would honor their promise.
As it turns out, Erin’s optimism was totally justified. When she and her family arrived at the restaurant, Sue and Dominick were standing outside, peering through the window to see if their new friends were there yet. Both Erin and Sue screamed with excitement when they saw each other!
What followed was, as Erin described it in her Instagram story, “the best dinner of our lives.” By the end of the meal, these strangers decided that this would not be their final reunion. Sue and Erin finally exchanged numbers, and they’re planning to meet up again on June 27!
