It’s not easy being in a long-distance relationship. But when you’re with the right person, anything is possible! To maintain the relationship, couples will often think outside of the box. This can include daily calls, virtual dates, and thoughtful love letters sent by mail. And you can’t forget those surprise visits! That’s what Lexi Hosmer did to celebrate her long-distance boyfriend Samuel Vecchi’s birthday.

Since the surprise was for Samuel, a number of his family members were in on the secret. This includes his mom. She was nearly as excited as the couple! According to Lexi, she met her “in the driveway jumping up and down.” Still, nothing can beat Samuel’s reaction. While he expects Mom to place his cake on the table, it’s actually Lexi. “I flew home to surprise my long distance boyfriend on his birthday!” Lexi writes in the caption of her video. “Let’s just say it’s gonna be hard to top next year!!”

While everyone sings “Happy Birthday” to Samuel, Lexi and his mom sneakily walk down the stairs. Just as his mom gets close, it’s Lexi who steps forward with the cake. At first, Samuel looks directly at his girlfriend without realizing it’s her. But it doesn’t take long for him to realize something is up… and it’s at that moment he simply has to give her the biggest hug ever!

“The way he started to cry at the end too,” someone points out in reply to this viral video, with another person admitting, “I fear I cannot stop watching this.”

“Not only is he in love with you,” a third person writes, “but it’s so clear his family loves you too.”
