When a moose wandered into this woman’s yard, she decided that it would be hilarious if she started reading out loud to them. After all, she had the perfect book on hand: If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff. Kinley caught the cutest video of the animal’s reaction as she narrated the work of children’s literature. Unfortunately, it seems that the creature may have taken some of the stereotypes in this book rather personally!

In Kinley’s video, she was only able to get through a single sentence before the moose stormed off indignantly. All she’d read was the line, “If you give a moose a muffin, he’ll want some jam to go with it.” We’re not sure which part of the text this animal had a problem with. Maybe they didn’t appreciate the implication that moose were greedy, or perhaps the creature just didn’t like jam. Either way, it was clear that they had heard enough!
As the moose walked off, Kinley made an attempt to get their attention again.
“Wait, come back,” she said. “I’m not done reading!”
Surprisingly, the moose actually turned around! It almost looked like the creature was interested to hear how If You Give a Moose a Muffin could redeem itself after delivering such an insulting depiction of their species. Sadly, though, that’s where the video ended. We’re not sure if Kinley continued reading to the moose off-camera, but it looks like commenters still really enjoyed the silly clip!
“‘I’m not staying here for this slander!'” one person joked, pretending to speak from the moose’s perspective.
Another added, “The way he stopped like ‘what else???'”
Obviously, this moose couldn’t actually understand what Kinley was saying. However, this video of her reading If You Give a Moose a Muffin to the animal is still pretty darn cute!
