Magical: Cat Gazes In Wonder As Fireflies Zoom Around Her

With spring season in full bloom, it’s finally time to enjoy all that this beautiful season has to offer. Sure, now is a great time to get some much-needed cleaning done around the house. But you can’t forget about making memories with some fun, outdoor activities, too! How else will your pet get the opportunity to appreciate fireflies? For a cat named Molly, this year was the very first time she got to witness these bugs for herself.

Do you remember the first time you saw a firefly, whether in person or on video? It can be surprisingly easy to forget just how bizarre they are (in the best ways, of course). That said, when you show them to someone else for the first time, you’re likely to be reminded, “Oh yeah… an animal that produces light is pretty wild, huh?” See fireflies through the eyes of Molly the cat in the precious video below!

“She could not believe her eyes, when ten million fireflies…” someone writes in the comments, referencing the iconic song Fireflies by Owl City. Another person admitted, “I would be captivated too, I’ve never seen a firefly!”

Molly is far from being the only cat who is curious about bright bugs. Another cat, Mochi, also showed the sweetest interest in learning more about these odd creatures. You can see her reaction in the video below.

As a word of caution, fireflies are dangerous for cats to eat (though eating just one is not likely to cause serious or lasting harm). In any case, when done safely, introducing your cats to the world like this can be oh-so-fun! Especially when it helps remind you of the endless wonders of this world, too.
