Samuel Mariño is incredibly unique – he’s one of the only male sopranos in the opera world today. He’s also incredibly talented, but his beautiful voice emerged from a dark place. After years of bullying in high school, a doctor pointed him in the direction of singing. He began exploring the world of opera, and is now making his debut at the famous Glyndebourne opera house.

A male voice with the sparkling upper range that Samuel offers is hard to find. However, he believes his presence in the opera world could inspire more people like him to get involved.
“It’s unusual I think in Glyndebourne to look like this, but, well, you’re welcome. You’ll be not the only one.”he says.
Decked out in sequins with a shining voice to match, Samuel Mariño is an inspiration to all that what makes us different is what makes us powerful.
