How can anyone resist a piano that the public is free to play? While most of us can only mess around on the keys for fun, perhaps showing off our ability to play something basic like Chopsticks, others are a bit more talented. Willow Gladue is one of those people. One day, while out and about, she discovered a random piano. It was outside, and it was all hers to play.

As someone who has musical skills, Willow took this as an opportunity for a mini-performance. Her song of choice? Je te laisserai des mots by the Canadian singer-songwriter Patrick Watson. For this young woman, the song choice didn’t mean much. Little did she know, however, that the song meant everything to a nearby elderly widower… see his reaction in the video below.

Talented Pianist Makes an Elderly Widow’s Day By Unintentionally Playing His Late Wife’s Favorite Song
As Willow explains in her video, when she started to play the piano, it caught the man’s attention. Perhaps, at first, he couldn’t quite place why it was so familiar. But as luck or fate would have it, Willow just so happened to choose his late wife’s favorite song. Needless to say, this caused the man to stop what he was doing so he could enjoy this seemingly destined performance.
“Later some local had told me that his wife died of cancer ten years ago,” Willow shares in the caption of her video.
“How does it feel to be picked by an angel to pass on her love?” someone asks Willow in the comment section, with another adding, “We’re all somehow always connected. It’s never a coincidence.”
“He was hoping the song wouldn’t end,” a third person points out, “because even just for a moment, it was a glimpse into what it felt like when she was here.”
