During their flight around the castle, this falcon glided over the tops of trees and through stone archways with amazing speed and grace. Since the camera was attached to the bird’s back, every crumbling wall was filmed over their shoulder. Whenever the animal turned their head, you could see the expression on their face as they took it all in.

“You have never seen a castle from this perspective,” read the video’s caption on social media.

This is true. Since we can’t fly ourselves, we sadly don’t get to see things from way up in the sky very often. It’s a rare gift to watch the world pass by beneath the wings of a bird! We’re so glad that this falcon trainer decided to give us a glimpse into their feathered friend’s flight above this historic castle.

“This is like a dream come true,” one commenter wrote. “Living vicariously through a bird with a GoPro because I don’t have wings.”

A few other users pointed out that the camera seemed to be shaking throughout the video. The falconer explained in his responses that this was because there was very little wind that day, which meant that the bird had to flap their wings more often.

All in all, watching this video of a falcon’s view as they soar over a magnificent castle is a pretty amazing experience. Unless you want to take up hang gliding, it’s as close as you can get to having your own wings!
