Best of all, we are finding out from the actor himself! In an interview on Fallon Tonight, Sandler gives insight into how the decision was made to finally do a sequel; after all these years. It’s clear that he is just as excited, if not more so, than the fans themselves.

“We worked hard on the script,” Sandler shares. “We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it.”
With the script ready, Sandler says that filming will start in New Jersey mere weeks from now. That said, the actor has already been practicing his golf swing… with some mixed results. But he promises he’ll be ready in time for when filming starts!

That’s right — Travis Kelce himself is set to make a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2! Known for being a football star, Kelce has also been known to golf, too, so there’s no telling what part he’ll be playing. Either way, there’s clearly a lot to look forward to with this sequel.
