Pups like these need care, play, and instruction to develop the skills necessary for success later in life. In their newfound role as “Mama Otter,” the Maryland Zoo hospital team is providing the essentials to help this otter grow healthy and strong.
Young otters need a wide variety of enrichment opportunities and the Maryland Zoo has been supplying them all! She’s got a kiddy pool, stuffed animals, and other toys to help her development. Her diet has also been expanding. She’s now enjoying carrots, apples, and a variety of insects!
