Not only is Todd a great example, but he’s also generous. After graduating from college in 2011, the app designer and senior software developer juggled mortgage, car, and student loan payments – and showed his little brother that hard work pays off. Recently, he moved Alex to tears with another beautiful gesture of brotherly love!
Alex graduated from college six years after his brother, who then offered to let Alex move into his home for free. After six months there, Todd began charging him rent – or at least, that’s what Alex thought.
As it turns out, Todd was holding on to every cent! He wanted to save the money for a special purpose.
When Alex made an offer on a house of his own in May, the day finally came for Todd to reveal what he’d done. Their mom Barbara recorded the moment as Todd held his phone out to Alex.
“Although Alex was puzzled when he saw me with my camera out, he was even more confused, then completely shocked, when Todd held up a screenshot of the savings account balance on his phone,” Barbara told Good News Network. “Then, he told Alex the money was his!”
Not only had Todd held on to Alex’s rent money, but he had also added some of his own! As Todd explained, he wanted to set Alex up for success by helping him with a down payment on his house.
That was when Alex completely lost it!
“I didn’t want you to have to struggle like I did,” Todd said before the two of them embraced.
Congratulations, Alex, on both your new home and your amazing relationship with your brother!
Someone give Todd the brother of the year award! This gift has already made such a huge difference in Alex’s life. Even better than the house is knowing how much his sibling cares!
