American Idol is shaking things up this season with a new judge and other exciting faces. First, season four winner Carrie Underwood will sit in the judge’s seat once occupied by Katy Perry. But she’s not the only big name appearing in season 23. In addition to hosting Ryan Seacrest and judges like Bryan and Lionel Richie, Josh Groban will lend his talents to American Idol contestants. Josh will mentor the top 24 contestants. He announced the news on Instagram with a pic from Hawaii.

Josh Groban Isn’t The Only Famous Musician Joining “American Idol” This Season
Jelly Roll will also be back but with a new twist. This year, Jelly Roll won’t serve as a mentor but as the first-ever American Idol Artist in Residence. Idol shared the news, and, of course, when people saw Jelly Roll, they got excited.
