The siblings announced their upcoming book—The Make-Believer—in a statement to PEOPLE. They explained that the plot is based on their shared childhood and the adventures they went with their imaginations.
“We are so excited to be able to release our first children’s book into the world this fall,” they told the publication.
“The idea behind The Make-Believers is so important to us, as it was inspired by our own childhood growing up just outside of Atlanta,” they continued. “We both wondered what life was like beyond our everyday surroundings. And from a young age, we discovered that our imaginations doubled as tools to dream big and travel far.”
The Make-Believers is illustrated by Bonnie Lui, and it will be published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. Ryan didn’t announce the exact release date, but he said we can expect it sometime this fall.
In an Instagram post, the American Idol host shared that he and his sister also found inspiration for the story while talking to children they help through the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which puts media broadcast centers into pediatric hospitals so young patients can “explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media.”
“We hope to instill a belief in the magic of creating their own unique worlds,” Ryan wrote.
