When we share out story, we give others the opportunity to offer up their support and love, even if they’re strangers. Reddit user H0mertron experienced this first hand a couple of weeks ago when he reacted to another person’s story. In the group “Made Me Smile,” someone shared an article about a woman who used to have a tumor. For the first time in a while, she was able to open the car door by herself!

Although H0mertron didn’t have a brain tumor, he had lost his leg. After months, it was finally time to try and walk again, and seeing the woman’s story gave him hope. He shared this sentiment and, in response, tons of folks encouraged him. This clearly warmed the man’s heart, giving him the extra dose of hope he needed.
After receiving such incredible support from so many, he simply had to give an update. Today, July 24, this determined Reddit user shared a video of himself walking with his prosthetic limb.
“I posted two weeks ago I was going in for my prosthetic limb,” he wrote. “Reddit showed me overwhelming support! So here’s me walking down my hallway for the first time in 10 months, with appropriate music.”
