Mothers will tell you that the joy of having children is something that simply can’t be put into words. Similarly, it’s impossible to describe the painful process of giving birth. Everyone’s experience will vary, of course, but more often than not it’s a grueling process. It’s no wonder so many couples prepare as much as possible for the big day. Still, nothing could have prepared Jezlyn Bearden’s husband, Grayson, for the odd request she’d make.

While in the hospital, Jezlyn experienced painful contractions. Wanting a distraction, she asked her husband to perform an interpretive dance. Yes, an interpretive dance. As random as this request may seem, the reason for it likely stems from a recent social media trend. I’ll tell you more about that in a moment. First, it’s time to experience the hilarious performance Jezlyn did!
@jezlynbearden he delivered so I can deliver 😭😭 the commitment. The choreo. The EXECUTION. 10/10. @Grayson Bearden #pregnancy #marriage #husbandwife #labor #thirdtrimester #interpretivedance ♬ original sound – Shelbydances!!
How amazing was that dance!? It’s no wonder Jezlyn thought to get her husband in on this trend. Speaking of which, this silly trend started when someone wanted their boyfriend to stay the night — but first, she had to get her roommate’s approval.
Their silly way to see if he was “worthy” of his request? An interpretive dance! Since this first video, the concept has expanded, leading us to Jezlyn’s hilarious video.
When This Woman Needs a Distraction From Labor Contractions, She Asks Her Husband for an Interpretive Dance… and He Delivers!
“He delivered so I can deliver,” Jezlyn cleverly writes in the caption of her video. “The commitment. The choreo. The EXECUTION. 10/10.”
Turns out, there’s a reason Grayson is so excellent at this trend. According to a comment Jezlyn left on the video, he’s a “legit ballet dancer.”
“As an L&D [labor & delivery] nurse, I pray I walk in on this exact scene one day,” someone in the comments shares, with another adding, “He’s been waiting his whole life for this moment.”
