Astronaut Shares Breathtaking Time-Lapse Of Moon Setting Into Aurora Borealis

The aurora borealis lights shine across the sky, stars in the sky

The Earth is such a beautiful place. We see this daily in the nature around us, but it’s nice to be reminded of the beauty we rarely get to appreciate. Luckily, NASA Astronauts like Matthew Dominick are more than happy to share the views they get from up above. Matthew, who is spending six months conducting experiments while maintaining the space station, recently captured footage of the moon setting into the lights of the aurora borealis.

There is so much to love about Matthew’s video. The vibrant colors of the aurora borealis are mesmerizing. Plus, this angle further highlights how massive our planet is compared to the limited views we typically get. What a spectacular reminder of the vast wonder that is our world!

No matter if you’re viewing the aurora borealis from space or down here on Earth, one thing is for certain: This natural light show never gets old!

“Star Trek future already here, just not for all of us at the same time. I’m so happy for you this is your office. Truly amazing,” one person shares in response to Matthew’s video, with another adding, “Holy cow, that’s beautiful! What an age we live in where a human can live in orbit, record a natural sight like that, and beam it back to Earth for us to enjoy. Thank you!”
