Any dog owner will tell you that it doesn’t matter what kind of fancy, interactive toy you buy for your pup — they’ll always find some random object in the house they love to play with more! Kate Smith, a Belgian Malinois mom on social media, shared the most hilarious footage of her pooch, Mace, having the best time with a robotic vacuum cleaner. Obviously, she didn’t intend for this item to become a dog toy when she bought it. However, it seems to serve two purposes perfectly!
In this adorable clip, Mace was clearly very excited to play with the robot vacuum. As soon as it began to move, the pooch started running in circles around the machine. Then, when the dog’s favorite “interactive toy” stopped, he started whining until Mom got it working again. Watch the video here.
Apparently, this unusual game is a pretty good workout for the energetic animal!
“People are always like, ‘Oh, you have a Belgian Malinois, how do you make sure he gets enough exercise?'” said the dog owner in her video. “And something that helps is he has appointed himself manager of our cleaning staff, and our cleaning staff is me and a little robot vacuum.”
She continued, “He likes to follow around the vacuum and hype it up, make sure it’s doing its job.”
When playtime was over, this Belgian Malinois was extremely upset. The dog kept staring at his mom, waiting for her to turn the interactive toy back on for him! However, the pet owner knew that he needed a rest from his physical activity.
“You both need a little break,” she said. “You need a little water.”
There was no dissuading this stubborn pooch, though. He wouldn’t stop pacing and panting in front of the machine! Still, Mom was firm. This dog would just have to wait to play with his interactive toy again later!
