Ben Affleck Smashes Nepo Baby Stereotype When His Son Asks For $6K Shoes

Ben Affleck Son

While it might seem like being the child of a celebrity is all fame and fortune, not all stars buy into that kind of parenting. Plenty of celebs believe their children must work hard, too. They didn’t get where they were on their family’s laurels, so they wanted their kids to do the same. Ben Affleck and his son, Samuel, recently went to a sneaker convention, and the kid learned pretty quickly he can’t just go to the Bank of Dad to make a withdrawal.

Ben Affleck Won’t Spend Crazy Money On Shoes For His Son

In an Instagram clip posted by @gotsole, a guide takes Ben and Sam to a table where he finds a $6,000 paid of sneakers. Sure, they looked good, but that didn’t mean anything to Ben. The dad very quickly told Sam, “That’s a lot of lawns you gotta mow there.”

Ben Affleck then joked with his son that he only likes the shoes “because they’re expensive.”

Sam quickly clapped back, “No, they’re tough! I’ve always said they look good.”

That didn’t seem to make much of a difference to his father, who apparently didn’t buy the shoes and stayed true to his words. If Sam wants the sneaks, he’ll have to work for them.

Instagrammers gave Ben Affleck props for handling the situation with his son realistically.

One wrote, “Great dad move! Love when parents get their kids involved in their hobbies.”

Another person shared, “I love it!!! Keeping his kids grounded.”

This fan gushed about Ben Affleck and they way he parents his daughters and son. “Ben is the best man I know with the most beautiful kids ever and the momma of those 3 is pretty darn great. This family knows how to parent and I love them.”

And this person put it all into perspective, “Man knows the value of a dollar, he didn’t grow up with millions in the bank.”
