Birthday Girl Sets Her Sister Straight With Hilariously Strong Boundary About Candles

Two little girls sit at a small dining table. One wears a crown and uses her hands as she talks intensely to the other little girl. The other girl stands still, staring blankly at the girl in the crown. A cake sits on the table, no candles lit

What’s your favorite way to celebrate your birthday? While some prefer to keep things low-key, others hope for a giant party! No matter how you spend the day, most of us tend to agree on one thing: The day is all about us. Few moments showcase this fact clearer than when it’s time to blow out the candles on our birthday cake.

While the cake itself is for everyone, only the birthday person gets to blow out the candles, all while making a wish. Unfortunately, it seems that a little girl named Elsie missed that memo. When her little sister, Winnie, turned 4 years old, she was quick to “help” her with the candles. As you might imagine, Winnie was not open to her help… at all. Birthday Girl Doesn’t Hesitate to Tell Sister How She Feels

When Elsie successfully blows out a number of Winnie’s candles, the birthday girl is quick to share how she feels. There are no tears, however. Just a frustrated 4-year-old who is quick to realize that she has some boundaries she needs to set. Naturally, this upsets Elsie.

But many viewers of this viral video appreciate the fact that Winnie wasn’t told to “get over” what her sister did, no matter her good intentions.

This birthday incident took place years ago, but the little girls’ family still break it out every once in a while for a good laugh. This is what inspired Mom to finally share this moment on social media. She hoped others would find the humor in it as well — and she was right!

“Hope she stays assertive, boundaries are important — love it,” someone shares in the comment section of the video, another person adding, “No tantrums, no crying, no looking at mom for assurance, just straight confrontation like a bossgirl.”
