It looks like this black cat is ready for Halloween! They even picked out a scary costume all on their own, and it’s frighteningly authentic. Mom captured the most hilarious footage of the kitty decked out in their spooky attire. What’s so perfect about this “costume” is that the cat didn’t even mean to put it on. Well, that, and it didn’t cost their owner a dime!

Apparently, this little black barn cat had decided to go exploring in some particularly dusty places. When they emerged, they were wrapped head-to-toe in a shroud of spiderwebs! Even the feline’s face was covered, making it look like they were wearing a ghostly veil. Mom shared a great video of the Halloween-ready kitty on social media. Over a million people have watched it online!
“When the dogs went in, one of the barn cats popped out to show me the early Halloween costume,” the woman wrote in her caption.

It would probably terrify some people to see a black cat covered in creepy cobwebs appear out of nowhere, but pet parents already know to expect this kind of thing. A fellow cat owner in the comments section told a similar tale about their own kitty.
“My cat got herself covered in webs once then SULKED FOR AN HOUR when I took them off,” they wrote. “She was trying to live her goth moment and I ruined it.”
This black cat isn’t the first feline to go viral for wearing an accidental costume made of dust and spiderwebs, either. Last year, another social media user shared some pretty funny footage of their kitty after taking an excursion underneath the house. Unsurprisingly, this animal returned looking very spooky.
Although we can’t stop our pets from exploring the filthiest areas they can find, we can at least make the most of it when they come back dressed in cobwebs!
