Ireland is known for many things, including its breathtaking landscapes. It’s truly no wonder that around 6.3 million people visited this beautiful country in 2023 alone. But with so many incredible landscapes to explore, where do you even start? If you ask Matt Stitt, he is likely to say that Moytoge Head Lookout Post is the perfect place choice. In fact, he calls one of the views here “a window into the soul of Ireland.”

While this may sound like an over exaggeration, it is anything but that. Here at this lookout post, visitors can find a half-standing building with a large, open window. This window is placed to give the perfect view of gorgeous cliffsides that lead to the massive Atlantic ocean below. Check out this stunning view for yourself in the video below.

In addition to the breathtaking views, Moytoge Head Lookout Post has a fascinating history. During World War 2, it was used as a look-out post. Those placed here would track ships and aircrafts. They would also observe the weather. Since that time, the buildings have broken down considerably. However, it is a popular spot for tourists, serving as a historical landmark.

The beauty of this area is also perfectly captured in the image above. Amazing, right? With views like that one, it is seriously no wonder that everyone who visits Ireland finds it difficult to leave!
“I went to Ireland in September and now Ireland lives in my heart, so beautiful!” someone shares in the comment section of the popular video, with another person adding, “Went there in March and I am in love with that country.”
