As a writer for InspireMore, it’s my job (and pleasure) to focus on the positive. After all, we’re in the business of spreading good news! But like everyone else, I struggle from time to time.

I have dealt with anxiety for years, and while I wouldn’t call it debilitating, it does get in the way of my happiness at times. That’s why I’ve made it my goal this year to cultivate a more positive mindset and find healthy ways to cope with negative thoughts. So I gave Breethe’s meditation and mental wellness app a try!
Admittedly, I’ve tried meditating before, but I never stuck to the practice for more than a day or two. That is, until I downloaded Breethe – it provides personalized support and helpful tools in a playful, accessible, and down-to-earth manner. Here’s what I learned in seven days of using the app:
1. Happiness takes practice.
I’ve always thought of happiness as a permanent state of mind once achieved, but it takes effort – and, sometimes, help! Breethe became the gentle guide I needed to keep moving forward on my journey.
2. Meditation should be part of every wellness routine.
It’s no secret that regular meditation improves mental health! In just a week, I’ve learned to practice sitting and observing my negative thought patterns instead of reacting to them. This has helped me become more aware of what triggers my anxiety (and how to respond once it is triggered!) as well as how to stay calm.
3. Making time to work on mental health is vital.
Breethe makes it easy with meditations and tools that are designed to fit into busy schedules. Squeeze in a few minutes or devote a half hour – whatever works for you!
Another thing I’ve learned is that seven days isn’t nearly enough time to enjoy everything Breethe has to offer! Here are a few of my favorite features (and why I’m keeping the app – which is free to download, by the way!):
1. It’s real help for your life.
Can’t sleep or feel anxious? Breethe’s new My Life Kit is designed to figure out why and deliver personalized recommendations. It’s a toolkit created to meet your specific mental well-being needs. Breethe gets to know you (in a fun and easy way!) – and it helps. Consider it your life’s playlist.
2. You can choose your wellness goals.
I set my focus to “Deal with Anxiety,” but there are so many other goals with relevant, specific meditations and beginner-friendly series, including “Fall Asleep,” “Deal with Insomnia,” “Manage Work Stress,” and “Feel Happier.”
3. Meditations for everyday situations.
Not only are their meditations relatable to our everyday lives (see “Tax Season–Adulting Is Hard” or “My Boss is a Jerk”), but the teachers’ soothing voices and loving messages also make you feel cared for (really!). And with new content added on a daily basis, there’s always something new to try.
They also organized the app to easily fit into your busy day (and life!) with intuitive (and helpful) sections, including “Start Your Day,” “Focus at Work,” and “Take a Break” – it’s a total sanity-saver!
4. Hypnotherapy sessions that put you to sleep.
You can work toward your wellness goals and tackle insomnia at the same time while listening to the hypnotherapy sessions. They also have bedtime stories – but good luck staying awake for the entire tale!
5. Music for every mood, inspirational talks, and masterclasses.
Whether you’re looking for a playlist to help you focus at work or unwind before bed, Breethe has you covered with a library of relaxing sounds. And, with so many inspirational talks and masterclasses at your fingertips, it’s like having a life coach in your pocket!
You deserve to be happy, so join me in using meditation as a tool for wellness. Breethe’s free version has more than 100 meditations to choose from, but their monthly, one-year, and lifetime subscriptions offer so much more! Right now, you can get 30 percent off of any Breethe subscription. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that this app is more than worth it!
