Gurpreet and her husband-to-be were from two different cultures. His family is English, while hers is Indian. Obviously, this couple would have distinct expectations for what a wedding is supposed to look like. However, the bride’s mother-in-law was determined to show respect for her new daughter’s cultural background. When she found out that Indian moms typically give their girls gold to celebrate their big day, she decided to participate in this tradition!
This bride shared the most heartwarming video of the special moment she shared with her mother-in-law on her wedding day. In the precious clip, Gurpreet was sitting on the couch and doing some skincare when the older woman approached her with the gift. When she realized what was happening, this daughter-in-law began to tear up! It became clear to her that she really was a part of her new husband’s family.

In the comments section, Gurpreet shared that her mother-in-law had truly become a surrogate mom to her.
“I’m estranged from my family so my MIL really stepped in as my parent,” she wrote.
