Some say it takes a village to raise a child. Adults caring for aging parents might say the same is true in that season of life. Aging comes with its own set of challenges, but adding a complex medical diagnosis on top of that can make life difficult. Having a loving and supporting family to help during these times can make the transition easier. Bruce Willis‘ first wife, Demi Moore, and their daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, know this very well. The four have helped care for their father since his 2022 aphasia diagnosis.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore Divorced Years Ago

Though Bruce and Demi were married for 13 years, they moved on to different relationships. Emma Heming married Bruce Willis in 2009. The two hoped to have a long life together and share daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10. In 2022, Bruce’s health took a turn, and his diagnosis came as a shock to his family.

“As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young,” Emma told Town & Country.

But Bruce Willis has many people who love him, and Demi Moore and their daughters rallied to help Emma.

“The family respects the way I’m looking after him; they really support me,” Emma said. “If I need to vent, if I need to cry, if I need to rage — because all of that can happen and it’s okay to have those feelings — they are always there to listen.”

Emma Heming Willis feels blessed that Demi Moore and her daughters play an important role in Bruce Willis’ life.

“I’m so thankful that we are this blended family. They’re very supportive, very loving, and very helpful, and a lot of people don’t have that.”
