Camera Inside Bird House Gives Adorable Peek Into Raising A Feathered Family

Close up of a bluebird looking up into the camera in the bird house they are inside. Beneath the bird are three tiny blue eggs, one of which appears to be cracked.

Bird watching may be associated with older folks, but people of all ages can benefit from admiring our feathered friends. There are countless videos online that prove why that’s the case. One of them comes from an unexpected place — the Historic Easton Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Here, they installed a birdhouse with a solar-powered camera. That way, they could get a peek into the lives of the birds that inhabit the home.

Luckily, their plan was a total success! Over the course of 48 days, they were able to capture two bluebirds building a nest together. During this time, they manage to create the perfect nest, hatch eggs, and welcome several babies into the world. How cool is that? Those 48 days must have been jam-packed, but a compilation of this beautiful time was edited down to just two minutes. Enjoy it for yourself in the video below!

Pennsylvania Bird House Camera Gives Adorable Insight Into the Life of a Bluebird Family

As the above video shows, these two bluebirds put in a lot of time and effort to make their birdhouse a bird home. And it pays off when the most adorable babies hatch from their eggs. According to the video’s caption, they had “four healthy Eastern bluebird babies who flew the coop on day 48!”

The original video got cut off before we could see the baby birds grow up and leave the nest. So, if you’d like to see that, check out part two below!

“I love how they first came to visit and both agreed this would be home,” someone shares in the comment section of the original video, with another adding, “The birds who find these birdhouses must be like ‘Sick, a free mansion!'”

“I’ve been studying bluebirds since 1995 & I love how the male AND female build together & feed the babies together, etc.,” a third person shares. “They also fledge the nest together as a family once babies are ready. They are one of the few that do everything together for life. Absolutely love them! Thanks for sharing.”
