This cat may be small, but he’s still taken it upon himself to protect his young owners while they’re getting on the school bus every morning! One pet mom caught the most hilarious footage of her feline friend waiting patiently by the side of the road while her children climbed into the vehicle. It didn’t matter that there was snow on the ground or that it was cold outside — this cat had a job to do! Mom shared a video of the animal performing his duties as a guard kitty on social media.

In the clip, the cat watched the kids get into the school bus with laser focus. He didn’t move a muscle the entire time! It wasn’t until the vehicle drove off that the feline felt comfortable leaving his post. His owner joked that he was acting like a dog!
“Your cat thinks he’s a dog and waits for the kids to get on the bus every morning,” the woman wrote in her video.
As soon as the school bus drove away, the cat quickly scampered through the snow to get back home. Mom held the door open as the cat rushed into the house.
“Good boy,” she praised him.
He put on a brave face, but this cat was probably getting pretty cold out there!
This video has gone viral online. Commenters loved how the cat staunchly waited outside in the cold weather until he knew the kids were safely on the bus. A few also pointed out that the kitty was probably in a hurry to get back into the house because he was getting chilly!
