A pup named Clover has gone to great lengths to prove that dogs really are our best friends.

Haley Moore was taking her 1-year-old Maremma mix puppy on a walk through her Ottawa, Canada, neighborhood, when she suddenly began having a seizure and fell to the pavement. Instantly, Clover went from being a rescue to being a rescuer.
The very good girl immediately began to check on Haley and chart a course of action as one car had already passed them by.
Making the decision not to let that happen again, Clover freed her leash and sprang into action as the next vehicle approached. In a neighbor’s security camera, we can see the pooch slowly walk in front of 21-year-old Dryden Oatway’s car.
“It was really impressive, the dog actually blocked my way,” Dryden told CTV. “She kind of backed into the road to block my truck.”
But even as Clover flagged the neighbor down, she never let Haley out of her sight.
“The whole time she was backing down the street, she had eyes on Haley. Didn’t look away from her. She kept her distance from me but made sure her owner was OK, and that was amazing,” Dryden added.
Clover then caught another neighbor’s attention, and Danielle Pilon headed over to offer a helping hand. All the while, it was clear that Clover felt a pull to run home and notify the rest of her family.
“You could tell she didn’t want to leave her even when we were with her, but I think it just came to her that she was like, ‘I need to go home to let them know she needs help,'” Danielle said.
So they, along with Clover, told Haley’s family what had happened and quickly got her into an ambulance.
“To see my daughter, face full of mud, and she was incoherent, wasn’t sure where she was, it was just terrifying, it really was,” said her dad, Randall Moore.
After waking up inside an ambulance completely bewildered as to how she had gotten there, Haley was informed of the heroic act that had just taken place. In a moment, Clover had gone from the family pet to the family hero.
“[My wife] Diane comes home with a couple of big steaks, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is great, I’m getting a steak,'” Randall said. “And she says, ‘No, it’s for Clover for doing such a great job!'”
If the Moore family didn’t know it before, they now understand just how lucky they are to have Clover around. Of course, Haley knows this most of all.
“If this ends up happening again, I feel 10 times safer,” she said, “and I know she will be there for me.”
