Couple Plays Silly Game Of “Marco Polo” With Confused Cat After Moving

A black cat standing in a doorway.

When this poor cat got lost in her new home, her owners came up with the perfect way to help her find them: a game of Marco Polo! In a hilarious clip on social media, the pet parents were in the middle of measuring one of their rooms when they heard their kitty, Pooka, meowing piteously. It turns out that the animal had gotten disoriented while exploring the house, and she was upset because she couldn’t locate Mom and Dad! Thankfully, though, her humans knew just what to do.

To help the cat find her way back to them, the animal’s owners began to play Marco Polo with her. Every time Pooka meowed, her parents responded loud enough for her to hear them from across the house. They called out a variety of different phrases, including the classic “Marco.”

It worked like a charm! In no time, the black cat wandered back into the room where her parents were waiting. Then, she walked right over to Mom for some comforting scratches!

“POV you moved from an apartment to a house and your cat keeps getting lost,” wrote the woman in her social media post.

In her caption, she added, “She wanders off by herself then cries because she’s alone lol.”

Over 14 million people have watched these pet parents play Marco Polo with their lost cat. Commenters thought that the video was too funny!

“Definitely not made for the streets,” joked one user.

Another added, “The audacity of going for a wander and then being like, ‘I can’t believe you left me?! How dare you!'”

A month later, this cat was still playing Marco Polo.

In a later update, Pooka’s mom shared that her kitty still hadn’t quite gotten the lay of the land as far as the new house went. She posted another hilarious clip of her cat meowing from the other room, forcing the woman to employ the Marco Polo method once again.
