The views at Yosemite National Park are absolutely breathtaking. With so much nature to appreciate, it’s no wonder that multiple visits are needed! Even still, it’s inevitable to not spot every moment of beauty… but having a GoPro can certainly help. Meet Zoe and Kelby Jecker. This couple considers themselves to be “adventure addicts” — and they’ve proven it by making adventuring content their jobs!

On their social media pages, you’ll catch glimpses of all sorts of breathtaking spots. But there’s one popular video of theirs that especially stands out above the rest. While on a road trip in California, the couple visited El Capitan at Yosemite. Here, they admired all of the brave folks who dared to climb the massive rocks. When it was time to camp to nearby, Zoe wondered what their GoPro camera would capture of El Capitan if left out at night…
Zoe admits that leaving their GoPro out overnight was risky. Still, she doesn’t regret it a bit, especially once she checks out the incredible footage they got! Somehow, the camera was able to capture the people climbing at night — they look like tiny bright dots! Plus, we get a gorgeous view of the sky as the Earth rotates. See for yourself in the video below.
This Gorgeous Footage of El Capitan at Night Will Take Your Breath Away
@theadventureaddicts Did you know people climb El Cap at night? 🤯 El Cap, or El Capitan is one of the most well known and classic pieces of rock in the entire world. We have been on a roadtrip through some of our favorite places in California this week, meaning Yosemite had to make the list!! Every time we come back, I’m always in absolute awe of the massive rocks people are climbing. We always go to El Cap meadow (where this video was taken) and lay down and watch all the climbers going up the wall. It’s so cool to realize that each of those climbers is likely working towards accomplishing something they’ve wanted to do forever. They’re living out their bucketlist up there. (Maybe one day we will too 🤔) Climbers on these big walls often climb at night because it is so hot during the day. At night you’re not sweating as much and the granite and your shoes feel “stickier.” We weren’t sure if we’d capture anything at all, but we managed to get quite a few climbers heading up, setting up camp, going to sleep, and even a few starting early morning at the end! We shot this video on the new @GoPro HERO13 using Night Lapse mode, and literally just left it in the park overnight while we camped outside of the boundaries! We hooked it up to an external battery bank, and it ran all night and into the morning!! I’m so glad it wasn’t gone 😅 Have you ever seen the climbers on el cap? @VisitCalifornia @roadsurfer #GoProRoadtrip2024 #GoPro #GoProHERO13 #VisitCalifornia #Roadsurfer #yosemite #campinglife #hikersofinstagram #adventureculture #climbing ♬ original sound – The Adventure Addicts
Like many others, you may be wondering: How did their camera’s battery last all night? Turns out, all the couple had to do was hook it up to an external battery bank. With results like this, we couldn’t be more grateful they took a chance!
“OMG!! What an incredible shot. Something out of National Geographic,” someone points out in the comments, with another adding, “Yosemite is so magical.”
