Unfortunately, far too many kids find themselves in need of long hospital stays. But that’s exactly why the organization Little Wishes exists. Since 2003, they have been providing kids in hospitals with the kind of hope and joy needed during life’s most challenging times. Luckily for Trinity, Little Wishes provides its services at her hospital, allowing a very special dog to visit her! Learn more about Trinity and her dog friend in the video below.

Throughout Trinity’s stay in the hospital, Sam was by her side, ready to comfort her. No matter the unexpected health updates, setbacks, or procedures, Trinity could always count on Sam’s unwavering loyalty. This meant the world to the 11-year-old, especially when it was time for her to get back in a car for the first time since her accident.

Girl Finds Comfort in the Hospital Thanks to Visits From a New Dog Friend Named Sam

Part of what makes Little Wishes so special is the steady support they provide young patients. Every two weeks, they get new wishes granted. In other words, they always have something new to look forward to during their hospital visit — this helps give them the hope and strength needed to carry on, despite all they’re enduring.

“I have a certified therapy dog and the lives she’s helped to mend still blows my mind,” someone shares in the comment section of the video, with another adding, “Getting back in the car after my accident was the hardest part of my recovery from it. I was [diagnosed] with PTSD and had to do special therapy for it. I’m so glad she had the doggo to help her ease back in!”
