For some people, a cruise is the ultimate relaxing vacation. They get to spend time on the water, taking in beautiful views, all while enjoying the spoils of a luxurious ship. Of course, dangers are associated with being at sea, but a knowledgeable and experienced crew can help make a cruise the trip of a lifetime. Lesley Anne Murphy recently shared footage of a terrifying moment aboard a ship passing through the Drake Passage. The waves crash so violently on the boat that it almost looks like it could capsize. Lesley explained, “I am proud to say we survived not one but two Drake Shakes on @limitlestravel Antarctica! For context, the Drake Passage is the body of water between the tip of Argentina and Antarctica. It’s infamous for its extremely rough seas. If you’re lucky, you get the Drake Lake. If you’re like us, you get the Drake Shake with 35 ft waves. Yes, we were safe and it was insane…and at times, even fun? 1000% worth it for this trip of a lifetime!”

The Crew Kept Passengers Safe Aboard The Cruise Ship
Lesley added guests were instructed to remain in their cabins for an entire afternoon while the ship passed through the dangerous waters. She added “There were definitely some silver linings amongst this whole ordeal…we got some downtime, we laughed *a lot*, I processed some of this amazing voyage, I FaceTimed my girls and I learned that wildly enough…I don’t get seasick! Would you do it?!”
Many people in the comments said there was no way they’d take this type of cruise.
One person wrote, “The way this puts a FINAL stamp on my decision to never go on a cruise.”
Just watching made this person nauseated, “I think I need a Dramamine just watching this video.”
Another person joked, “Me with a life jacket and whistle reading the boat manual.”
