Spring is coming, and it’s not just the warmer weather and fresh blooms we’re looking forward to. Dairy Queen will usher in the new spring season with a free vanilla cone on March 20. The annual Free Cone Day celebrates the change of the season and the exciting days ahead.

Dairy Queen announced the promotion in a news release. It reads, “Free Cone Day is by far one of our favorite days of the year,” Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing at ADQ, said. “There’s nothing sweeter than enjoying a tasty cone—on DQ—to kick off a season full of reasons to celebrate.”
Spring Is The Perfect Excuse For A Trip To Dairy Queen
Not that we really need a reason to visit one of our favorite ice cream spots. A free cone certainly sweetens the deal. Dairy Queen teased the promotion on social media with several Instagram posts. Fans look forward to Free Cone Day each year at Dairy Queen marking the star of spring.
A fan shared, “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of ice cream if I could get it everyday.”
“Can’t wait! Thank you in advance,” another DQ enthusiast wrote.
To make the start of spring even sweeter, Dairy Queen will offer chocolate dip to their free vanilla cones for a dollar donation to the Children’s Miracle Network.
“Make Free Cone Day even more special by adding a $1 dip to your cone. On March 20th when you dip your FREE small cone, you’re also benefiting kids at your local member hospital of @cmnhospitals,” an Instagram post explains.
Per the release, “Fans can visit DairyQueen.com or download the DQ® App to find a local DQ restaurant on March 20. Fans can also share their Free Cone Day celebrations on social media tagging @DairyQueen and using #FreeConeDay.”
