Jevin Smith, who considers himself “more than an embarrassing dad,” has recorded his many attempts to mortify his kids for his Instagram followers. On one occasion, he dressed up like Andre 3000 and danced alongside his son and daughter as they walked to his SUV while their classmates clapped along. Another time, he dressed up like an early 2000s dancer and did the same. The best part is that Jevin is a professional dancer, so he actually looks great when he’s embarrassing his kids.
What Jevin didn’t know is that a young dancer was watching his shenanigans from afar. And one day, when the dad showed up ready to make his daughter blush, the kid stepped in for a dance-off.
The Dancing Dad “Got Served”
That day, Jevin showed up with Usher’s U Don’t Have To Call blaring on his radio. He got out of his SUV and danced just like the original singer while his daughter tried pretending like she didn’t know him and rushed to the vehicle. As he danced behind her, a high school boy named Shane Smith ran up behind him and lightly pushed him. When Jevin turned around, he saw the kid breakdancing like a star.
“YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED ON THIS #parentpickup,” Jevin captioned. “I was trying to #embarrass my daughter @jaynareign like I usually do and then this… 😳 I believe I just got SERVED 🤣🕺🏽 Excellent job @iamshanesmith This kid is THE TRUTH!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”
The video earned over 700K likes in a month and has recently gone even more viral.
“When tryna embarrass your daughter backfires on u and u gotta improv dance battle with a kid who want the smoke 😂 perfect scenario,” someone laughed.
“This escalated quickly in the best way,” a follower wrote.
“Now that’s how you ask my daughter to the prom. U gotta defeat the boss! 😂😂😂,” someone joked.
The dance battle was so popular that the two had a rematch, and this time, Jevin “was ready for him.” But, the dad wasn’t too proud to admit that he ended up “getting served” once more.
