The two played genetically engineered brothers Julius and Vincent in the classic comedy that hit theaters 36 years ago. While filming, Danny and Arnold forged a quick and lasting bond. Over the years, they’ve made it a point to create more projects together. To date, the actors also co-starred in Junior, and Danny held a small, unaccredited part as the voice of Whiskers in Arnold’s Last Action Hero.
But the guys have more than just a working relationship. They also have a personal relationship, and they support each other as often as possible. Just recently, Arnold even headed out to New York City to watch his friend sing and dance in a new Broadway play.
After sitting in the audience, Arnold met up with Danny and Danny’s Daughter, Lucy, who also stars in the production. The three posed for an on-set picture that Arnold posted on Instagram.
“My brother!” Arnold began. “It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in I Need That. He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute – one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart!! I can’t wait to work together again.”
Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger are Working on a New Project
For those who are wondering, Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger are indeed planning on working together again. For years they tried getting a Twins sequel off the ground, and they almost succeeded with a movie called Triplets—but production halted almost as soon as it started.
However, that didn’t stop the duo from getting back on screen together. In November, Danny DeVito told GQ that they have a secret project in the works. The Matilda actor wouldn’t give any clues about the plot, but he thinks his fans will be impressed.
“Now we have a little thing going, a little project that we’ve been chatting about,” he shared. “…It’s just two friends, two guys because we have a good time together.”
“We complement each other in a lot of ways,” he added. “I am way stronger than he is.”
