There’s a motorcyclist in California who must be feeling rather lucky right now. In early March, a man was making his way down the 210 freeway in Irwindale, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. At some point, the man did not slow down enough for the truck right in front of him. As a result, he ended up hitting the vehicle at an alarming speed. The sight of the motorcycle crash alone might make you think it was fatal.

Thankfully, that was not the case. Though, footage of this harrowing moment is alarming nonetheless. As soon as the motorcycle hits the truck, it shatters on the highway, the driver no longer on it. Instead, the driver can be found in the bed of the very truck that he hit. See this shocking moment for yourself in the video below.

This footage, made available thanks to dashcam footage from a nearby vehicle, does little to provide context for what happened. All we know is that, for some reason, the motorcyclist did not slow down in time. Thankfully, whatever happened did not lead to tragedy. According to California Highway Patrol, the driver of the truck got off the highway at the next exit.
This Nearly Deadly Motorcycle Crash Gets a Happy Ending
The public has yet to be given many details on what happened next. All we know for sure is that the motorcyclist survived. Best of all, though, he was said to have walked away with only minor injuries. It’s unknown whether he received medical care as a result.
“I’m no expert but I feel like him landing on the flat bed saved him from much worse,” someone shares in reply to this shocking footage, another person adding, “Probably the safest motorcycle crash I’ve ever seen.”
