Life is all about the little moments. Sure, what they look like will depend on each individual but, ultimately, it’s who we spend those moments with that matters the most. Much of the time, the best memories are ones we aren’t able to capture on camera. That’s why it is oh-so-special that Jacquelyn Romney just so happened to be filming during a sweet conversation with her mom.

So, what was the reason that Jacquelyn was filming them? They were decorating the cookies they had just made! And they weren’t just any cookies. These cookies were shaped like flowers. That made decorating them extra fun, of course. But as much fun as the actual activity was, Mom took note of the fact that them being together is what made this moment so special. Check out what she said in the heartwarming video below!

“I just like doing something like this once in a while. It’s soothing. There’s no reason to but it makes me happy,” Mom says, later adding, “And now that you’re here helping me, it’s like your friend said: ‘You take all those moments you can,’ right?”
While this is a moment that Jacquelyn appreciated as it happened, it hit her extra hard watching it back the second time. And it’s easy to understand why!

“You’re so lucky to have this kind of relationship with your mom,” someone points out in reply to Jacquelyn’s viral video, with another person adding, “My mom passed away 5 years ago and this made me cry. We bonded this way too over making Christmas candy. Cherish that.”
“‘There’s no reason to but makes me happy’ — that just changed my perspective on life,” a third person shares. “Gonna start doing more things just because it purely makes me happy.”
