David Beckham’s Not Shy About His Self-Care Routine

The soccer star shared a few snaps on Instagram stories on October 6, showing off his incredible physique. On one, he wrote, “Self-Care Sunday,” and on the other image of himself outside the sauna in a towel, “Always important to take a minute to yourself and reset.”

Experts agree that proper self-care is essential, and using a sauna can be a great way to release stress.

“There’s evidence around saunas being effective for those who have high stress work or personal situations,” Dr. Amy Zack told the Cleveland Clinic. “The sauna experience does seem to show improvement in anxiety.”

It can also help with pain relief and cardiovascular health.

“The heat causes an increase in heart rate and sweating. This results in a physiologic change that mimics exercise. This also causes the release of anti-inflammatory agents,” Dr. Zack explained.

By the looks of David, he’s definitely reaping the benefits of his sauna. David married his wife, Victoria, in 1999 and the pair share four children, Brooklyn 25, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13. David once told the Smartless podcast their relationship is very strong.

“Of course, when you’re with someone for that amount of time, of course you have your ups and downs, everybody knows that and at the end of the day we were lucky because we had each other at those moments.”
