David Beckham Swoons Over Wife Victoria Beckham

When asked if it was love at first sight, David told PEOPLE, “Of course, she was a Spice Girl and sexy and beautiful and charming.”

The couple met 25 years ago, in 1997, and David knew Victoria was special from their first encounter.

The dynamic duo met at a Manchester United soccer game. Although David Beckham may have been instantly entranced by Victoria Beckham’s physical beauty, it grew into so much more from there. Once he started to get to know her, he said, “I found out what a strong woman she is. So it’s again the gift that keeps on giving.”

After two years together, the pair got married in 1999. Now, they share four children. But children are not the only things they share. The couple also has chickens! David said he and Victoria are now entering their “farmer era.”

From Soccer Fields to Farm Fields

David jokingly told PEOPLE, “My wife gets a lot of content out of the chickens…I’m sure you’re going to be seeing a lot more content.” Besides influencing him to buy chickens, Victoria also inspires David Beckham’s style.

The soccer star shared, “She has a huge influence on my style. When I put something on, I know from her reaction whether I need to take it off or whether I need to keep it on.” It seems like his love at first sight radar was accurate. As his biggest hype man, partner, and best friend the pair have never seemed happier. Also, the two of them are aging like fine wine.
